Does the law of attraction work?

To put it simply… yes, yes it does.

Well…that was an easy post…:)

Just kidding, to go into more detail the Law of Attraction follows the premise that like attracts like.

Each thought we think has a specific vibration, it could be a high vibration (lounging on a beach sipping a pina colada) or a low vibration (if Sandra doesn’t stop mouth breathing imma punch her in the face).

The idea is that each thought you send out will attract back another thought of a similar vibration.

This is how we can create momentum with our thoughts. For example, focusing on how annoying Sandra’s mouth breathing is will then attract similar annoying thoughts that will snowball and before you know it, you are in a foul mood.

The Law of Attraction works whether you realise it or not, but it is when you are aware of your thoughts and focus on thinking great thoughts, that the magic begins.

There are a few critics who have slammed the Law of Attraction and state that it doesn’t work.

You also may have found yourself that you have watched The Secret, read the books and decided to adapt this new way of thinking into your life, yet you are unable to see the huge giant manifestations, quickly give up and doubt the viability of it all.

This is understandable, but if you think about it, you have around 60,000 thoughts per day and the large majority of these are negative thoughts developed over years and years of negative conditioning from our families, peers and the media etc.

You can have a few positive thoughts throughout your day, but put it in balance with the thousands of other negative thoughts you think on auto pilot (a lot of which are subconscious and internalised childhood), and no wonder you aren’t seeing that million dollars hit your account. It is then difficult to believe in something when you are trying and not seeing any progress.

The good news is that a belief is just a thought you repeatedly think, and a thought can be changed. It is possible to deactivate these beliefs and create new positive ones.

If you are serious about utilising the law of attraction all it takes is daily focus. Set an intention to think a few more positive thoughts each day, be aware of your thoughts and ‘catch’ any negative ones before they gather momentum.

It is with daily practice and focus that you can slowly begin to tip the balance of thoughts to mostly positive, and then you can build the momentum to allow amazing things into your life.

Of course to begin with it isn’t that easy considering the however many years previously focusing on the negative, but you will get there.

There are many things you can do for example keep a list of positive thoughts that will instantly make you feel good, use affirmations or start a daily meditation practice.

    I can personally relate to the law of attraction. For instance, I have this certain coworker that is always complaining about things. Every time he is around I tend to thank negatively. Never really thought of how the the law of attraction works, though.

    How do you change yourself from thinking of negative thoughts. Do you have any other good tips for stopping negative thoughts? I try to be positive most of the time, but sometimes I can’t help it.

    • Hey thanks for the great comment, the best way to stop thinking negative thoughts is to start becoming consciously aware of them, and when you become aware, choose a different thought. It can be hard at first because you have been used to thinking a certain way all of your life, but with some practice and persistence it can be done!
      Affirmations are a great way to actively focus your brain on positive statements and the more you say them, the more you will believe them, so you could create one for work, something simple like ”I love my cheery attitude in work” keep saying this and truly believe it and that it what you will bring. You are matching up with this negative person on your work vibrationally so if you raise your vibration and focus on what makes you feel good then you won’t have as many interactions with this person, and what you do have will need to be positive to Match your vibration. The negativity won’t bother you as you will be feeling too good to let it.You can control how you feel but not anyone else so it can help to just allow that person to be who they are and not get wound up at why they are that way, let him manifest the life he is manifesting “and you go on with your life where everything feels good, hope this helps!
