Day 16: Ho’oponopono
Day 16 of the 21 Awesome Days Challenge!
Day 16 is here! And we will be talking about Ho’oponopono.
No my cat hasn’t just walked across the keyboard, Ho’oponopono is a real thing.
If any of you follow Dr Joe Vitale from ‘The Secret’ you may have an idea of what i’m on about.
To explain briefly, Ho’oponopono involves you taking responsibility for everything in your life. I.e. everything in your life that you perceive as ‘outside’ of you is actually inside of you and once you take responsibility for it, you can begin to clear it, clean it and through forgiveness change it.
It is traditionally carried out by indigenous Hawaiian healers, often with the extended family by a family member. However there is now an updated version that you can carry out yourself. It is basically a Hawaiian prayer.
Ho’oponopono is responsible for countless ‘miracles’. Most famously, a Hawaiian man named Dr Ihaleakala Hew Len was able to completely cure a whole ward of criminally insane patients without ever being in personal contact with them or even being in the same room.
He read the patients files and while taking responsibility he used Ho’oponopono to clear the patients illnesses using four principles: Repentance, Forgiveness, Gratitude and Love.
Ho’oponopono is extremely easy to carry out, all you have to do is say:
-I love you
-Please Forgive me
Simply put, in saying these four phrases repeatedly in your head, you are clearing out all the negativity and distress in the world. You can focus on yourself or another person, or even a world problem.
I used Ho’oponopono to help me clear out fears while learning to drive. I passed my test while also repeating the prayer (believe me it was a miracle I did pass). I keep my Ho’oponopono book in my car now to keep me safe as I drive.
Today’s challenge is to try Ho’oponopono throughout your day and see if it raises your vibration. The fact that you are consciously saying the four phrases keeps you focused on the present which is a good thing in itself.
As always please let me know if anything works well for you and please share the challenge with any like minded people who you think may benefit from it.
Wishing you an abundance of joy.
P.s. You’re awesome
