Day 1: 17 Seconds is all it takes

Day 1: 17 Seconds is all it takes

Day 1 of the 21 Awesome Days Challenge!

I hope you are all feeling awesome and ready for Day 1 🙂

Today’s exercise is a simple yet powerful one, any Abraham hicks fans may already know this..

So according to Abraham Hicks all it takes is 17 seconds of feeling a thought for the law of attraction to bring you another thought of the same vibration. Once you ave focused on good feeling thoughts for 68 seconds, that is enough momentum to start a great feeling day!

Today’s challenge is best done first thing in the morning and although you may not think you are very good at it at first, like anything practice makes perfect.

So as soon as you wake up (or when you remember) I want you to think of a reeeeally good thought, something that makes you feel awesome, and I want you to try and hold that thought for 17 seconds.

Really immerse yourself in how good it feels, squeeze every bit of goodness out of the thought until you have held it for 17 seconds.

By then you should have held it long enough that the law of attraction will present you with another good thought and after another 17 seconds another and so on, until you have built up enough positive momentum to ensure that your whole day is awesome!

This may be difficult to begin with as we are usually so conditioned to focus on the negative. However the more you focus, the better your brain will get at it and you can start your days the way you mean to go on- feeling awesome!

I usually end my day with the intention to wake up feeling good. Then when I wake up, the first thing I do before I even open my eyes is think of how awesome my mattress feels and how lucky I am to have such comfy pillows, and go from there!

The tone of my day is set and I can go off attracting more and more good feeling thoughts.

Don’t get me wrong some days I can wake up feeling less than great, but like everything it takes practice to undo the years of negative beliefs and paradigms we have built up. The key is not to be hard on yourself if you don’t get it straight away, and just try again!

I hope you can get as much joy from this tip as I have.

  • Hello Colleen,
Just saw your comment on another site, and decided to do some website exploring for inspirations.
I like the idea of your blog! especially the 21 day protocol.
I use to read a lot of Abraham Hicks, and it had a huge impact on my life.
Waking up with a positive intention is definitely a good idea. It’s especially hard for me though, because mornings were pretty rough when I was growing up, so I think there is some PTSD there for mornings lol. It usually takes me a good 15 minutes to get into a positive mood.
Any tips for someone who just isn’t a morning person?

    • Hi Wilson! thanks so much for your comment, I love to hear from anyone who visits my site.
I’m so happy to hear that you are an abraham hicks fan too! they have just transformed my way of thinking in a big way 🙂
I’m sorry to hear your mornings were rough when growing up, a way i would suggest to makes things easier for you in the mornings would be to carry out some EFT.
EFT otherwise known as ‘tapping’ is an amazing free way to release emotional charge related to past memories, it works exactly like acupressure except you use your fingers to tap on meridian points on your body, check out day 3 of the 21 day challenge where i talk a bit more about it

Also there is a great woman called heather ambler, if you visit her site she has loads of free tapping scripts and guidance on how to release traumatic memories http://www.heatherambler.com/ she also does a free 30 day tapping challenge that i have completed and highly recommend.
      I hope this helps!
