6. The Success Principles By Jack Canfield
You may recognise Jack if you have watched the film ‘The Secret’. Jack has been a prominent figure in the self development niche for many years, and he has presented all of his tips, hints and tricks into his extensive list of principles. The information in this book is invaluable and filled with stories of ordinary people who have completely changed their lives by following the principles outlined in the book.
This is a hefty sized book that really gives you everything you need to know, Jack also writes in an extremely down to earth and easy to read style, so you will find yourself breezing through it’s pages with ease. Louise Hay was the queen of affirmations and made an incredible impact on this world within her 90 years. This book was one of her first publications and a definite timeless piece that is filled with wisdom and healing through love.

Louise healed herself from cancer and shares how she did this and also outlines how you can heal any aspect of your life stating ‘if we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed’. This book is warm and comforting in a way that Louise frequently creates with her writing, she makes you feel like an old friend.
8. Chicken Soup For The Soul By Jack Canfield And Mark Victor Hansen
This is the second time Mr Jack Canfield has made an appearance on my list (the lucky duck), but you can’t have a list of books that will change your life without mentioning the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Along with his buddy Mark Victor Hansen, Canfield created a compilation of heartwarming stories of inspiration that will just make you go ‘awwwwww’.
The Chicken Soup books have inspired millions across the planet and have expanded into a HUGE series of books with many different sub topics for example stories for teachers, teenagers, mothers, pet owners etc. But you can’t beat the original, and if you want some proof that the world is awesome, I highly recommend this book.
9. The Miracle Of Mindfulness By Thich Nhat Hanh
Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh offers a simple yet profound guide to mindfulness and inner peace in this beautifully written book. The first time I read it, I found this book quite difficult to get through, I felt like I just didn’t quite ‘get it’.
However I was determined to give it another go, and I soon realised that I was assuming it should be a lot more difficult. We are accustomed to believing that we have to work hard and sacrifice in order to achieve success in anything. This book highlights how simple it is to achieve a state of peace, in fact it actually works better not to try so hard and just surrender to the flow.
This book taught me an awful lot and made me realise I was really over complicating things, ‘keep it simple’ is now my new motto. In reading this wonderful book I have found an easy way to be mindful, and joyfully present in my day.
10. Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway By Susan Jeffers
I’m ending my list with an absolute banger of a book, the legendary Susan Jeffers and her hilarious guide on how to face your fears and live a life without limits. Jeffers combines incredible life-changing advice with practical and actionable techniques and concepts, to try out on aspects such as: how to become the victor and not the victim, how to make no-lose decisions and how to silence your inner critic.
